5/12/2006 Jessie's best 10 laps this year.
Jeff Rohrbaugh was the first to double up with two wins at Trail Way
Speedway Friday night. Billy Dietrich had a strong run for second
and a big win Saturday night at Lincoln. Congratulations to both.
Jessie was wearing her new loaner suit from
Lady Eagle Design 500.
"I love this suit" said Jessie. She must have had a dozen
compliments on how good it looked on her. She ate that up. She
even had several people stop her out side the pits and comment on
her suit and the fact that they did not know a girl was racing at
Trail-Way. Her previous black suit was pretty nondescript. She was
even ready to change the color scheme of her car to match the suit
<G>.
Jessie had her best 10 feature laps Friday night. Unfortunately the
race was 25 laps and her 10 best were the first 10.
In lap 11 she was running side by side with Billy Dietrich in about
5th when they came up on a car being lapped. That car
and another connected and it started to role toward the outside wall
in the middle of the straight between turn 2 and 3. Billy went high
and Jessie went low when that same car hit someone else and cart
wheeled back across the tack and over the top of Jessie. Both
Jessie and Billy were gaining on the 4th place car at the
time with Billy had just passing Jessie coming out of turn 2.
Jessie was having a great run.
Jeff Rohrbaugh and Billy Dietrich came from 11th and 12th;
great runs for both of them.
With some damage to the top wing she still was still able to
continue. The other driver was ok. The wing damage changed the
handling enough to bring her back to 10th for the next 5
laps. Then in tight racing four cars were collected between 3 and 4
including hers. Unable to restart the car, she finished 16th.
All in all a great run and minimal damage considering the trouble:
lost a top wing, front wing and the posts.
Be sure to check out the Photo Finishing Station's link on Jessie's
links page. They have a great picture of Billy and Jessie side by
side in 1 and 2.
Use the PFS Events tab and Friday's date of 5/12.
Stephen had an uneventful night, no wrecks. That was the team's
goal. They were even able run Lincoln Saturday night. They are
glad to be back on track.
Scott Mehring we are keeping you in our thoughts and
prayers.
