6/5/2006 Tear Offs and Friday Night Rain

 

This weekend can be summed up by Rain for the Farmers on Friday Night and Jessie signed What? on Saturday Night.

 

Friday night was rained out, no race at Trail Way Speedway.

 

Saturday we were still working out some fuel issues at Lincoln Speedway and did not do as well as hoped.

 

Now Jessie had several folk ask for autographs Saturday Night.  Some Hats, some pictures, you know the things you might expect and still fun for Jessie.

 

Now up comes a fan with a Tear Off for her to sign.  Haven't done that before.  She's grinning from ear to ear as only she can.  Those of you who know Jessie first hand know the "Grin".

 

A Tear Off for those unfamiliar with open cockpit racing is the thin plastic sheets that are layered on the drivers face shield to be torn off during the race.  You may see them sparkle in the wind above the cars during the race as the drivers remove and discard them.

 

Anyway, she looks down and she says "Fred Rahmer has signed this Tear Off.  Are you sure you want me to sign below his signature?"  Yes was the answer.  He's only one of the best 410 drivers around.  She thinks a lot of his driving and would love to have a small portion of his success.  Don't know if he'll hear about this, but we hope he gets a grin out of it with us.

 

The Tear Off was tops for the night, even the fan that had her sign his arm couldn't top it.
