Jessie had another great night
at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, PA. She finished third in her
heat making the feature and the top 12 inversion. On this night she
was the lowest in weighted point in that top 12 putting her on the
pole. Her first feature start on the pole. She got a great start and
led for the first eight laps. In that eight laps there were about
eight caution flags, no more than two laps were run without a flag,
some had several.
The top 12 inversion mentioned above is the Sprint Car Worlds way
of having a lot of passing and competition in the feature. Thus the
fastest and/or week to week more consistent cars will generally be
located in positions 10, 11, 12 for the feature start. They need a
caution or two to make it to the front. You’ll see the best back
there moving forward every lap. Then as a gap may widen between them
and the very front a caution becomes the equalizer. Two of the best
in Glenndon Forsythe and Brad McClelland were in
positions 2 and 3 behind Jessie on the lap eight restart.
Glenndon Forsythe (4R) a former Lincoln 410 regular claimed
the first place spot on the eighth-lap restart with a great move.
Forsythe went on to win with McClelland in second.
Nate Berwager crossed a career-best third with Dale Hammaker
fourth and Danny Dietrich fifth.
Jessie finished eighth, her best finish yet at Lincoln in only
her second points race feature there.
We want to thank Rob Wells for last week’s right rear
tire. It put us in the feature through the heat race and in the top
12 inversion. This week Jessie would like thank Frank Fleming.
His tire did the trick this week. Thanks again.
