The 2009
Season Has Come To An End
The
2009 Season found Jessie running better and better with each race in her
20|20 Power 358 Sprint Car.
The highlight of the year was her 2nd place finish at Trail
Way Speedway. She was hoping for more but it was a great run. Jessie
took the lead at about lap 3 and led until trouble with a lapped car on the
white flag lap. She went high and hind sight proved low was the way to go.
This will sure leave Jessie with something to prove in 2010. She is looking
forward to the challenge.

Each
week the chemistry between driver and
Crew Chief Cody Fletcher got
better and better. She couldn’t do it without him. The one night Cody was
really sick and unable to make it to the track, the whole crew filled in for
him with the thought “What would Cody do here?” as each task came up. We
are lucky to have him.

Speaking of
a great crew, the glue that holds us together is
Don Kimmey with
his wife Kathy’s
support. When everyone is running in 10 directions he’s always taking care
of those little things that might get overlooked with his big smile.
Now we did
have a new crew member at many races,
Gabby.
Her grandpa decided she was ready to come in the pits on race night and she
was great help.

Then there
were those nights when
Mike Mort was not
racing his 358 Late Model. He brought his big grin and his “What can I do”
attitude and it was greatly appreciated. Seems several of those nights we
had plenty of emergencies and could use the extra help.
Jessie did
have a couple of tough wrecks near the end of the season and one on the last
night of the year. It took her out of tenth place in points as she was
running third at the time. With that in mind Jessie would like to thank the
Trail Way safety staff
and all those running the Friday night program. It will always be her home
track.
Thanks go
out to DMI
as well for the quick turn on a rebuilt rear when ours was broke in two in
the first of those two wrecks.
Looking to
2010 Jessie could sure use some help with
wings (Wings Unlimited
provide a great product) and
tires
(Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic
provided a great tire for our 2009 racing). College and racing are
competing for scarce resources in tough economic times as we all know.
Jessie could also use an engine sponsor.

Jessie got
the opportunity to run another season with
Daryl Winkler
and his All American
Outlaws in 2009.
It’s a traveling series and allowed her to race at a new track for her,
Bedford Speedway
with its great facilities in Central PA. She had a great run going in the
01 General Lee until she was caught up in a late race wreck. She finished
the year off with a strong finish in the final race at Trail Way Speedway
running second for most of the race and hung on for third when the right
front tire developed a leak, down almost six pounds.
Now
Jessie’s Dad has had a tough time getting the news out consistently this
year. Both Jessie and Dad are grateful to have
Greg Hines
as our friend and keeper of the web. He’s done a great job, thank you.
2010
Jessie is
working to put together enough support to run another full season at Trail
Way Speedway in her 20|20 Power 358 Sprint Car again. And then again any
other races she can.

On an off
the track note, Jessie has enjoyed the opportunity to host
Race Night at ACTV
and hopes to continue
the great tradition this show brings to Central PA racers and race fans.
It’s been fun and Central PA has no shortage of great guests. Thanks Sue
and Lynn for your friendship and support and certainly Mark’s help in the
control room. There would be no show without you.
We
hope to see you at the races.
