May 28, 2009 A Little
Racing and a Little Rain.
This past weekend we were able to
get Jessie’s
20|20 Power
358 Winged Sprint back on the track after a
couple weeks of rain, final exams and off nights.
Trail Way Speedway
had a weekend off for the 358 Sprints so we hauled our
car to
Port Royal Speedway
for a special race. The couple warm up laps were used
for knowing where the driving line was not. Then came the heat. Jessie
actually had a great pill draw and started up front. Then trouble with the
left rear torsion arm began on the first lap. By the second lap it had
broke loose and the car sat down on the axle. The fuel cell was cut open by
the brake rotor. End of our night.
For those who wonder - a new fuel cell with tank, bladder, pickup, paint and
decals is about $2,000.00 or so. We think we have a line on a good used
one.
Sunday our
All American Outlaw
race at
Selinsgrove
was rained out.
We hope to see you this weekend at the races.
