A Good Run For 15 Laps
Too bad we run 25
laps. Jessie ran hard the in heat and made the top 12 inversion which
had her on the outside pole for the feature. We still had a soft brake
pedal after changing most everything on the system. It turned out to be
a second master cylinder and an air bubble that was tough to get (this
note is a week late). So during the feature she jumped out to the lead
where she could float the car into the corners without needing as firm a
brake as she would like.
On lap 5 there was a
wreck. On the restart the 93 358 Sprint Car of
Pancho’s Racing Products driven by
Mike Bittinger was able to out brake her going into turn
one. From there, Jessie stayed within striking distance until lap 15.
As they came up on a lapped car, it did a 360 exiting turn 2 right in
front of her and the third place car. There was an inadvertent yellow
flag thrown by the corner worker and just as quickly put away. By the
time she got going again she was in 15th and the soft peddle was a big
problem back in the pack. At that point, she had to pull it in or be
the next wreck.
All in all it was a
strong 15 laps though.
Congratulations Mike on a great run.
