Second Place Finish For The General Lee At Hesston Speedway
July 18, 2010
The All American Outlaw Racecars headed up to Hesston Speedway last night to race. The new owner of the track, David Eriksen, has made a lot of improvements to the facility. It looks great! The track has a great new video system provided by Impact Media steaming video and they play it live on two TVs outside of the concession stand for people to keep watching the races while they are getting a hot dog and soda. It guarantees no one misses a minute of the racing action!
I really enjoyed the ride from home with my brother, mom, and dad all loaded into our truck for the 3 hour trip. I was really glad to have my brother in town to see me race because he is gone a lot in the military and is deploying next week to the Middle East.
I had fun on the initial start in the heat race. I caught a really good moisture patch down low around the flag stand and that launched me from fifth to third. In the feature, I started in third and got the chance to pass my good friend Scott Jorda. It was great running up front with Brooks Coleman, working through lapped traffic. Congratulations to Brooks on his win. He had a great run! He better watch out for me next time.
Sadly, my 358 Sprint Car race on Friday rained out. But this second place finish has built up my confidence leading into next week.
On Tuesday (July 13th), the Colemans and Daniels entered Brittany Coleman’s and my All American Outlaw cars in the annual Winfield Parade. We placed second in the judge’s awards! I had so much fun hanging out with those guys and throwing candy to the kids. It was neat to see all of my racing friends who showed up!
See you at the races,
